I've bought my Pixma pro 200 3 years ago and it's been doing wonders! However, recently I have been getting a service code 1700, "ink absorber almost full". So I looked up and learned to clean those pads.
Now I need my printer to reset itself since the service code still comes up. I've tried looking into the manual but it didn't specify how to hard reset this model (I did the soft reset but that didn't erase the error code).
I've been trying to find how to videos but it only shows other models but this one.
Please help!

Hi Nanci Clyde! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA PRO-200 is displaying the 1700 error and you would like to clear the counter for the Waste Ink Absorber after cleaning it.
Cleaning the Waste Ink Absorber is not recommended and can cause issues with the printer. For older models, Canon recommended replacing the Waste Ink Absorber before resetting the counter. At that time, Canon did have special authorized repair facilities that had the equipment to replace that part and reset the printer. These shops also were able to order parts through our Parts order desk. During Covid, the Authorized Repair option was shut down due to many shops closing their doors.
The information that you are requesting is not in the printer’s manual or in any articles that Canon provides through the Knowledge Base portion of the printer’s website. Because it contains proprietary information, the Service Manual for the printer is only provided to printer repair shops that are properly vetted and sign agreements with Canon.
If you are a printer repair shop or if you would like access to the service manual for the PRO-200, you can contact Canon’s Right to Repair hotline at 1-877-982-2666. If you can get the instructions and you want to purchase a Waste Ink Absorber for your printer, you can call our Parts Order Desk at 1-866-481-2569 between 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. ET, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Once you dial that number, please wait for the telephone prompt, and select Option 4.
I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
