Canon Pro 9000 MkII incorrect colours

Richard7903

Hi

I use Mac OS 10.8, either Lightroom or Photoshop CC (both up to date), I have tried Canon DPP, Canon Photo Professional 4, Canon Print Studio Pro, Capture One, DxO, etc, two calibrated monitors, OEM inks in the printer, correct profiles for the chosen paper and STILL the colours come out completely wrong! I downloaded the latest driver (I think) 13.7.1.0 and installed that all to no avail.

No ,matter if I let the printer control colours they still don't match what is on either of the screens. Screens are iMac 27" and Dell U2412M (as previously mentioned, both are calibrated).

Can anyone help save me a fortune on wasted inks and papers, pleeeeeeeeeeease??

Richard

Two suggestions:

1. be sure you are using the IJ driver and not the Bonjour driver. Go to System Preferences>Printer and Scanners and see which one is installed. If you don't see IJ version choose "+" to add a printer and wait for IJ to appear. COuld take a minute or two.

2. see this article and see what happens when you print the test image.

Many thanks for a swift reply to the other side of the Atlantic John:-)

I downloaded the test page and prited it from Photoshop, using Canon Pro Platinum Paper and profile, I also printed it letting the printer manage colours to do a comparison. The issue I am seeing on both prints are both green and blue in the downward stripes and the blocks on the page. To try and offer what I am seeing, look at the 4th block top row, the test page shows a "bright lime green" whereas my print is more like the colour green two thirds down on the green ramp. All greens likewise are dark.

Same story goes for the blues - all are ultra dark.

I checked driver and it tells me that Driver Version 13.7.1.0 is installed

Problem solved John

After another pack of high grade paper wasted I switched the Rendering Intent to Preceptual and BINGO!!

Now I want to know whats the difference between the different rensering intents, google here I come!

Glad it seems to be working. I am surpised that the rendering intent affected how that image printed. I usually see little difference between the two when I switch them.

Does this info help:

Here's a short discussion on the intents:

Also, by any chance do you have one of the Canon print options selected loke PRO, Vivid, etc?
