Canon Pixma Pro-100 not printing on black cardstock

I have 110lb black cardstock. I wanted to use my Pixma Pro-100 to print business cards with a black background. Originally when I printed on white cardstock, the black ink background and white ink text smudged together. This is why I want to not only save black ink, but also prevent the inks from smudging together. So I figured I would just get black cardstock, make transparent backgrounds with my design, and print.

However, my problem is, when I printed on the black cardstock the design BARELY showed up, and it was basically a lighter black. The colors of my design are rose gold and white. When I held that black cardstock in the light, I could kind of see the design.

So, how do I fix this to get my printer to print VIBRANTLY on black cardstock?

The Pro-100 printer uses dye inks; basically colored water. They are transparent; look how you can see through the cartridges. They do not block out the surface they are deposited on. You will not get the colors to show vibrantly on a black background.
