Cannot register new imagePROGRAF PRO-300 ... stating incorrect serial number

HI there.

I recently purchased a Prograf 300 from the Canon Store on Amazon. I am trying to register it but it is stating the serial number is incorrect. I checked the serial number numerous times ... both on the back of the printer and on the printer screen. Is there any way I can contact Canon directly?

I've owned many Canon printers and have seen differences in the serial number entry.  Sometimes it's just a matter of using zero for "o" or vice versa. (Example)

On my Pro100 the serial number was the last 10 digits of the serial number from right to left.  On the two lasers I own, the serial number included the letters at the beginning (left to right).  So try both ways.  

If you're not able to register the printer in your MyCanon account, I suggest you contact support for assistance.

In order for you to register your product, it must be one that was intended for sale in the United States.  

It's also important you understand that Canon does not control or operate a store on Amazon.  Amazon creates "store fronts" for larger vendors.  Amazon itself is a Canon authorized dealer.  When purchasing from Amazon, it's very important that it say "ships from and sold by Amazon".  Amazon is a marketplace and while it tries to ensure product integrity, not all sellers who fulfill an order are actually Canon authorized dealers.  In some cases, the product they offer are grey market and may not be eligible for US warranty.  

I'm only bringing this up because we want your customer experience to be a good one.  Trouble free and without issue.  Canon stands behind every product it sells.  It's important that you ensure your purchases are always made from an authorized dealer.

Canon USA does not have a store on Amazon. The only authorized seller on Amazon is Amazon. That means you must ensure that both the seller and shipper list Amazon. If they don't say shipped and sold by Amazon.com, you may have a gray market printer https://canon.us/GrayMarket and it may not be eligible for registration.

Amazon works with our marketing team for *that* page, but the products being sold are not sold directly by Canon USA. They are sold by anyone eligible to sell on Amazon.

Perfect! If it was shipped and sold by Amazon.com, and you're trying to register at https://canon.us/account you need to make sure you're selecting the exact product like so:

Yes, I tried numerous times. I have also tried using an "o" instead of "0". I will have to give them a call.
