iR-ADV C5540 III: Is this the correct driver?

In the office when I pull up the print management app it shows that "Canon Generic Plus UFR II 2.10.0.0 is the current driver for iR-ADV C5540 III (see screenshot). Is that correct? I checked the Cannon website it shows the new driver version to be 2.7.

I've tried several ways to update the driver and had no luck. I went through Device Manager and updated it there but it says the current driver is the latest one. Some staff's prints are getting stuck in the queue I can't help but think that its related to the driver version running. Any help/advice is appreciated.

Hi, icastellanos!

Thanks for posting! While our forum community members are welcome to chime in, Canon does not provide direct support for imageRUNNER series products. Instead, your dealer will be able to help you! If you don't have a dealer and you're in the United States, please call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) and we will be happy to provide you with the names of dealers in your area.

If you're outside the USA, visit http://global.canon and choose your country or region from the map for local support.

We hope this helps!

Hi icastellanos!

Looking at the screenshot you provided it looks like you are using a Microsoft OS and not MAC, correct?  I would recommend using driver Generic_Plus_PCL6_v2.70_Set-up_x64.exe instead of the UFR driver.  UFR driver is recommended for OS's that use post-script natively.  For a Windows environment you should have better luck with PCL6.

To avoid issues first fully delete the driver you have already installed.  Go to "Print management" then go to "all printers" and delete the Canon ImageRunner from that list so that the driver is no longer associated with a device.  Then, go to "all drivers" and delete the UFR driver from your list.  Once you have completed these deletions fully restart your machine.  Then you can install your printer using the PCL6 driver instead.  This should fix any issues related to the driver.  Good luck!
