Greetings,
After my Epson 7880 finally called it quits, I just purchased the Canon PRO 2600. After assembling it, I searched for instructions on how to install the software, but Canon has failed miserably in providing any documentation with the printer and their web site is useless, only providing a multitude of manuals, drivers and associated software, but no instructions as to a step-by-step procedure for installation. I know that certain sequences need to be done in a certain order or else problems occur (i.e., when to plug in the USB cable to the printer (before or after the drivers are installed), which program file to install first (drivers I assume), etc...). So WTF is with Canon for not providing this most crucial and basic set of instructions? Any tips on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

If the software for your printer is like mine, the installation itself goes step by step.
No one provides documentation in the box except for a small quick start guide, but Canon does not have that either so you have to get your documentation from the printer support page:

Thanks to all who replied. I finally decided to take a chance and install the software that I thought would be the initial install and took it upon myself to leave the printer turned off while executing the program (because those were the instructions that Epson had so diligently provided with my old printer) and by luck or chance, I was correct. The first install was "mas2-win-104_0_0-ea34_2.exe" and not the drivers, "pd68-win-pro_2600_pro_4600_pro_6600-6_32-ea23_4.exe", which I normally would have executed first. Not sure why Canon finds it too difficult to take the time and inform the buyer of these simple installation steps, but it seems like poor support if you ask me - Epson does a much better job at that.
