Canon iR-ADV C5860 - Network issue for certain users

Hey everyone,

Recently two users described being suddenly unable to print to the MFP. When they submit a job it will hang for a few minutes before returning a print error. Attempting to access the MFP console via IP through on the user machines results in the connection timing out.

What makes this odd is that if you ping the MFP from those same user machines it returns and if you install Canon drivers it will see the network printer. In checking, those users are on the correct VLAN, and have a correctly assigned IP address and have access to other network printers including a separate C5860 elsewhere on campus.

No other users have reported any issue and investigating from other workstations found no different setup, or network configuration and those users are able to print without issue.

User 1 is running Windows 10 22H2 and User 2 is running Windows 11 23H2. The IP is statically assigned for the MFP and there is no IP conflict with any other devices in our network.

Any thoughts?

Thank you sincerely,

Matt

Thanks for joining the conversation, Matt!

While our forum community members are welcome to chime in, Canon does not provide direct support for imageRUNNER series products. Instead, your dealer will be able to help you! If you don't have a dealer and you're in the United States, please call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) and we will be happy to provide you with the names of dealers in your area.

If you're outside the USA, visit http://global.canon and choose your country or region from the map for local support.

We hope this helps!
