I have Cannon printer MF654CDW. How do I know what driver I have for this printer?

Another question, every time I print it seems that the printer goes through a clean process. Is that a common occurrence ?

Greetings,

I second what John said.  I just checked and the downloads for Windows 11 are working.

You need two drivers.

[Windows 64bit] MF656Cdw/ MF654Cdw/ MF653Cdw/ MF652Cw MFDrivers (Generic Plus UFR II / Generic FAX / ScanGear)

And

[Windows 32bit & 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.21.0.2

You do not need the Master Setup.

Note: important.  If you are already printing and didn't install Canon drivers you are setting yourself up for failure.  The Canon drivers support all of the features and options of the printer and scanner.  The native windows drivers do not support all of the features the printer has to offer.

I suggest you remove the printer from your system, and restart the computer.  Then run the installers which will install the printer and scanner and provide full control and functionality ..

Greetings,

What is the version and build of the operating system you are using the printer with?

The sound you are hearing could be the printer charging itself. If the printer hasn't been used for a while or is sleeping, there may be a brief 5 to 10 second warm up before printing begins.  The warm up should start within a few seconds after the print job is sent.

Windows 11

I am using the latest version windows 11 64 bit. I went on the Cannon site and tried to download the latest driver. But it seems that it is not downloading. That is why I'm asking the question.

The sound I'm  hearing is after certain documents are printed. It does not always happen. That is why I think it is a cleaning process. Please confirm.

These are the current W11 drivers.

If you can't download the drivers it is a local computer problem; nothing to do with the printer.
