imageCLASS LBP6030w: Printer is not responding error after wireless setup

I recently purchased an imageCLASS LBP6030w printer, which is supposed to print via a wireless connection to your computer. (I have a MacBook.) I seem to have completed all the necessary setup, but every time I attempt to print a document, I get the error message, "The printer is not responding". I have combed through all manner of troubleshooting videos and articles, and nothing has been able to solve my problem.

Presumably the issue is with the wireless connection, although it could be something else. I am a university student—my university has an official WiFi network that you connect to with a password, and a guest WiFi network as well. When I used the network setup tool and searched for wireless LAN access points, several WiFi networks with the same name as the guest WiFi network showed up (there's only one guest WiFi network, I don't know why it would appear multiple times), yet the official WiFi network did not. When I connected my computer to the guest WiFi and clicked one of the options on the printer, it still would not print. I don't know if the issue has to do with the duplicate guest networks, or with something else; at any rate, I can't adjust the router, because I don't know where it is. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Greetings,

Education institutions often offer internet connectivity for free in their dorms or on campus housing.  Guest or shared networks have something called guest isolation.  This means that devices connected to this network cannot see or communicate with one another.  If they could then anybody connected to the same network would be able to see your computer and print to your printer.  This is a security feature intended to ensure privacy.

Of course there's no way for me to know what the setup is at your school but this is likely.  Best thing you could do is get a USB cable and plug it into your computer when you need to print.  I know this is kind of a bummer but it has to be done in order to keep your data safe and private.  If you speak to the IT department you'll probably find this is the case.
