MF4800dw works fine except I repeatedly have to uninstall & reinstall I'm guessing due to Windows 11 changing internal settings. Now, the Settings-Printers and Scanners-Add Device says "No Printers Found". How can I get Windows 11 to find and install my MF4800dw wirelessly?

Hey, Try setting a static IP for the printer through its control panel, then manually add it via “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address” in Windows settings. Also, ensure that Windows Update isn’t automatically replacing the driver; Canon’s one usually works better. Hope that helps!

Thanks for joining the conversation, MachPoint9!
So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the MF4800 series. You'll find the model number directly below the printer's LCD screen. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!
If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.
Thanks and have a great day!

Canon has always been very good with product support, but because of its age, they no longer support...

Greetings,
Has Danny pointed out, your printer has reached the end of its service life (it's 13 years old). Sounds like the printer's had a good life and has served you very well for many, many years. This is a testament to Canon's quality.
The 4800 series came in both US and European versions. Look closely as yours may be a 4890dw or i-sensys?
To try and better help you, we would need a specific model.. USA, European, correct model, etc? 4890, 4880???
Here are some additional tips. Since you are connecting your printer to your network wirelessly, please assign static IP address to it on your router. Once this is done, power cycle the printer and ensure that it gets the IP address that you have assigned. Ensure you can PING it from your Windows 11 PC. Now install the printer on your Windows11 PC as an IP printer.
This should take care of the detection issue you are experiencing.
With that said, your printer is about 13 years old now. You may want to consider purchasing a new Printer so you can start enjoying more modern printing technology with your new W11 computer. Here's a helpful link to the Canon printer buying guide.

Other than this connectivity issue, the printer works perfectly well. Is there a way to connect the printer directly to the computer via a wired connection? All the instructions call for a USB or LAN call for it to be connected to the router. That's not an issue due to location.

Hi,
Since you still haven't identified the actual model of the printer, I'm not able to provide accurate information about your connection options. 😉

Hi again, MachPoint9! We're sorry to have to keep asking this question but we need the exact model number to give you proper help. Canon does not make a model called simply "MF4800dw" as that refers to a series of related printers, each with a unique set of features which could affect how your printer interacts with your computer. Printers in this series include the MF4870dn, the MF4880dw, and the MF4890dw. On each of these, the model number appears directly below the LCD screen.
We hope to see your reply soon!
