Print Studio Pro won't install into Photoshop Elements 24

MarkJ

I've had to reinstall Photoshop Elements 24 on my PC after a reinstallation of Windows 11.  Previously I'd used Canon Print Studio Pro as it provides a good printing interface.  After going through the download process, I've been unable to get Print Studio Pro to open even though I see that a Print Studio Pro folder has been created.  Each time I open the PSE photo editor I get a message that one or more plug-ins are unavailable.  Looking at Help/System Info I see that four plug-ins from 4 different files failed to load.  I had no problem with installing Print Studio Pro in the initial installation of PSE24, nor in PSE11.  I've directed the download to the Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Elements 24\Plug-ins folder.  I've also tried the installer's default of a Canon folder, though I can't find any Canon folders containing Print Studio Pro after doing this.

On advice given to another poster with a similar problem (PSE15), I have downloaded the latest printer driver for my Pro-100S but this has made no difference.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there someone from Canon who can help with this problem?  As stated in my original post, Print Studio Pro downloaded and worked correctly when I installed it last year.  Is it an issue with PSP having been updated to work with PSE25 and then PSE26, making it incompatible with PSE24?  I understand that it is possible to download a stand-alone version of PSP if you own a Canon camera.  Is it possible to download a stand-alone version of PSP to operate with my Canon Pro-100S printer?

I just saw your other post and see you are running Windows 11.

The latest version of PSP for Windows is v2.2.4

This version shows support for PSE 24

Here's a download option from Canon Hong Kong.

Take a look at the release notes. They're pretty extensive.

Print Studio Pro Ver.2.2.4 (Windows) https://share.google/4VkrozMQ4pyuiIebz

Note, this is a plug-in 🙂

Downloads like this are typically available for printers, not for cameras.

Thank you for the link you provided.  I've tried it and gone through the process, however on opening up Photoshop Elements Editor, I still get the message: "One or more plug-ins are currently not available on your system."  Checking under Help/System Info I see the following:

Optional and third party plug-ins:

Canon Layout Plug-In for Print Studio Pro 2.2.4.0
Canon Print Studio Pro 2.2.4.0
Canon Print Studio Pro Export 2.2.4.0
PSP 2.2.4.0

 Plug-ins that failed to load:

Canon Layout Plug-In for Print Studio Pro NO VERSION - - from the file “CNPSPPLayout.8li”
Canon Print Studio Pro Export NO VERSION - - from the file “CNPSPP03.8be”
Canon Print Studio Pro NO VERSION - - from the file “CNPSPP01.8li”
PSP NO VERSION - - from the file “CNPSPP02.8bf”

This what has been happening all along using the link for PSP provided for the Pro-100s on the Canon website.  I can see that the Plug ins folder in PSE24 now has files where there were none previously, but PSP does not work.  I can't work out why.

Hi Mark,

Let me ask my colleague jrhoffman75 (John) to look at this thread.  He has the pro100 and uses it with LrC.  He's very good with plug-ins.

Thank you Rick - much appreciated.  It's now past midnight here, so I'll check in again tomorrow.

He's here in the US with me.

I don't think Canon support will open until Monday.

My Windows PC is W10.
Since I can’t upgrade to W11 my primary computer is now my MacBook Air.
I have Parallels installed, which lets me run a virtual W11 computer on the MacBook

I just installed Ps and PSP in Parallels. Ps and PSP both installed but when I run the plugin installer it generates an error message that a compatible version of Ps isn’t installed, so I am not even getting as far as you. Sorry I can’t help.

In a different post it was stated that a standalone version of PSP could be downloaded if someone had a Canon camera. There is no standalone version of PSP. For later printers, like Pro-200, there is a new product called Professional Print and Layout which does have a standalone version. It is not compatible with Pro-100.

Hi John

Thanks for looking into my problem. At one point I used Copilot to try to get to a solution. After a few dead ends I was told that there was a standalone version of PSP available through the camera section of Canon's website.  I thought I'd found the solution (though it may have been Professional Print and Layout) but I got to a point where I had to enter my Canon camera model and serial No.  I don't have a Canon camera so couldn't proceed.  However, from what you're saying PP&L would be incompatible with my Pro-100s.  I'm hoping that Canon support gets to see my post and can come up with a solution.  I found the PSP interface much easier to use than the PSE printing interface.

Cheers, Mark

Mark,
