They are "Canon TS6600 series" and "Canon TS6600 series (Copy 1)". Why the duplication? .And if it serves no useful purpose, how I I remove the second one!

That sometimes happens if you inadvertently installed the printer again.
If both work properly when you select them right-click the one that says Copy 1 and Remove device.

I certainly did not deliberately do a second install - I thought using the Canon Print App went very smoothly. But clearly I must have a mistake somewhere there.
I thought there may have been some good reason for the duplicate "Copy". But being reassured by you I simply removed this extra device. All good!
