Pixma Print Plan TS6520 unable to register

The process to register the printer for the Pixma Print Plan can't recognize the printer on the network.  The suggestion is to replace the driver which I did and the driver installation process recognized the printer but returning to the registration process, once again the printer was not recognized.  Other attempts included turning the printer off and then back on again with no success.  It appears that my printer, although listed as eligible for the plan, can't be registered.

Printer needs to be connected to WIFI for printer plan.

Connecting the Canon Pixma TS6520 to Wi-Fi Manually

Step 1: Prepare the Printer

  • Ensure the printer is powered on.
  • Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Access the Wi-Fi Setup

  1. On the printer's control panel, press the Home button.
  2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to Settings and select it.
  3. Choose Device settings and then select LAN settings.

Step 3: Select Wireless LAN

  • Choose Wireless LAN setup from the options available.

Step 4: Choose Manual Setup

  • Select Other Methods and then choose Manual Setup.

Step 5: Select Your Network

  1. The printer will search for available networks.
  2. From the list, select your Wi-Fi network.

Step 6: Enter the Wi-Fi Password

  • Use the printer's keypad to enter your Wi-Fi password.
  • Confirm the password entry.

Step 7: Complete the Setup

  • Once connected, the printer will display a confirmation message.
  • You can now add the printer to your computer for printing.

As stated in my initial post, the printer is connected to the WiFi network and has printed many copies via WiFi.  The problem arose when I tried to register for the Pixma Plan to enroll the printer in the plan to then select one of the plan's choices.  Each time I tried, the Pixma Plan enrollment routine failed t recognize the printer and entered an endless loop of suggesting updating the driver.  I chose not to continue to update the driver.  I'll simply buy ink as needed as there are too many obstacles to overcome and I have limited time to waste.
