Pixma G3501 how to connect to access point ?!?

FreeBSD
Apprentice

I have read all the tutorials.

I have spent 2 days trying to connect this printer to my wireless AP.

At this point I start giving up because I start thinking that this functionality is not even implemented.

What I managed to do is to activate the wifi mode connect to it with computer or phone

Admin: https://192.168.114.1/admin
Factory serial (default pass for wifi): XXXXXXX

I can login but there is absolutely no option for connecting this printer to a wifi, all I can do there is to change the AP name it creates.

I have also tried to install all the Canon software on windows and connect through USB, the printing works but once again there is no way to change the wireless from AP mode to client mode.

Please help!

I had trouble with my Imageclass MF269dw. I got it on the network but it would not be recognized by the install software. Somewhere on the internet someone said to check the settings on the router. I connected to the router and found a list of all the devices the router could see. Several that were not computers were set to "computer." (I could tell by checking each one's IP address which was listed. I corrected those, particularly the one that labelled the printer a "computer."   After that it would be recognized and would also be able to wake up from energy saver to print.

Thanks a LOT!

It did not help achieving exactly what the guide suggested. The printer could never connect using WPS no matter what I tried.

However pushing that button combination changed the functionality.

I could connect with the phone to the same cannon AP.

When connecting the the wireless AP selector showed up in the cannon Android app and I could finally select my AP enter the password and get it connected.
