PIXMA MX432 How to connect to router without CD

LindaT2019

How do I reconnect a Canon MX432 to the Internet without a CD, and when the router does not have a WPS button. I have tried hard wiring the printer to my laptop, but I do not have the CD. The drivers are already on the laptop.

Hi LindaT2019,

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MX432 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Hi Linda T2019,

As Ron pointed out, your printer Is an older model (13 years old) and has been retired.  It sounds like your printer has had a good life and has served you well.  Maybe it's time to consider treating yourself to more modern printing technology.

I just retired a ten year old Brother printer, and bought a new Canon, it hurt at first but I feel much better now.

Ron & Rick,

Thank you so much for your input. I cannot believe that just because I moved, I have to buy a new printer. WOW!! It was working just fine on the other modem. I used it within hours of moving. It’s a shame that my dad’s HP, which is five years older than mine, connected to his computer without any issues. And I cannot even hardwire this one and get it to print. Talk about adding insult to injury. Moving is expensive enough as it is without having to replace items that worked perfectly before the move. I'm not sure I'll buy another Canon as a result of this, as I just spent $100 on ink before the move that I now have to throw away.
