Can the cannon mp 240 be used on an android phone or tablet?

The PIXMA MP240 is an older model designed for USB connection to a computer. It doesn't have wireless features for direct printing from Android devices. You'd need a printer with Wi-Fi for that. The only other alternative would be to transfer whatever it is you want to print from your mobile devices to a computer that's connected to the printer by USB connection.

You can print from an Android phone to a Canon PIXMA MP240 using a USB/printer cable by connecting the phone to the printer with a USB OTG adapter, then selecting the print option in your app and choosing the MP240 as the printer in a third party as seen here:
