PIXMA MG3620 Drivers: Specified Pathway Is Too Long Error

I am getting an error message that the specified pathname is too long for the MP drivers.  How can I get around this?  I am using an HP laptop running Windows 11, and trying to install Canon MG3620.  I tried to install via wireless installation but my laptop was not able to locate the printer, so I tried again with a USB cable which seemed to be working but then I got the aforementioned error message.  I can't find where to make changes to resolve the problem.

There was a previous post about this but there was no description as to how the problem was resolved.

Thanks.

I am having the same problem.  Did you find a work around?

I did finally get the software installed, but I can't really say how I managed to do that.  I did actually purchase an external CD/DVD reader and used the CD that came with the printer, so maybe that was it.  I also clicked on the option to get software off the first page instead of going the route of downloading that I'd been using chose "My Printer" off the drop down list.  I think that may have been what worked, but not sure.  No one ever responded to my request for assistance though.

On multiple tries, I received the same message window: "The specified pathname is too long. Change the pathname to within 180 characters".

Before I resorted to trying to use the CD that came with the printer, I tried one last time with a different step. On the Canon web site setup screen, click on the big orange download button. During the download, it will give you the option of opening the file or saving it. Instead of opening the file, I chose to save it to my C:/temp folder on my hard drive. I then clicked on the saved file (win-mg3600-1_1-n_jucd.exe) and it launched the Start Setup window. This time, the printer setup proceeded successfully without the error message. I'm not sure why the save to drive option solved the problem, but this is what worked for me.
