My SELPHY CP1500 isn't working after the app update, anyone else with this problem solve it?

My Selphy app updated a few days ago and when I went to try to use it today it doesn't work at all. Just freezes the screen. I've tried restarting everything (phone, printer, etc), tried deleting the app and reuploading it, tried resetting the printer, nothing. It's basically unusable. I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it or if there is something I'm missing about the upgrade? I have a Selphy 1500 and I use an Iphone that while it's aging, the specs say it should still work. thanks!

Happy that I’m not alone in this. Pretty sure this problem started late September or so… so it’s been a long while. I’m getting really fed up with this and I’m not willing to jump through a million hoops to get this printer to work. It’s ridiculous that it has taken so long for canon to do something about this app issue. Does anyone have any update on it at all?

Yesterday I discovered another workaround for this problem for anyone who happens upon this thread still looking for a solution. Try going into your phone settings and taking away permissions for the Selphy app to access all your photos. I tried this yesterday and was able to get the app to work for the first time since the update. It's a bit of a pain because you have to choose photos for it to access everytime, but at least it works and I appear to be able to use collages again and the whole app. I hope they fix the app so that it can handle lots of pictures (it's obvious that people who buy a printer to print pictures might have...lots of pictures. An app should work with this!). But at least this allows me to use the app again even if it adds a few hoops to jump through. And thanks to whoever posted this fix in the reviews on the app store.
