MX870 support airprint? or will it?

I noticed that my printer the MX870 is not on the wireless airprint updates. are you going to add it to the firmware updates or do I just have to buy one that does?

Canon will not be updating the firmware to support AIrPrint on the old MP-series PIXMA printers or older MX-series PIXMA printers like the MX870. I recently upgraded from a MP990 to a MG8220 for the AirPrint and Google CloudPrint native support.

Is there an after-market app besides AirPrint that allows wireless printing between a Pixma 870 printer and an iPhone XR?
