MF642Cdw connected via WiFI prints, but cannot scan

Hello, I have installed my Canon MF642Cdw using WiFi. It was easy. Printed a test page easily. Tried to scan. Didn't work. Error message. Uninstalled the printer and all software 3 times, reinstalled, but printer works, and not the scanner. I am trying to figure out why. I used it previously using an ethernet cable and it worked like a charm. Is there a problem with scanning using WiFi? Can anyone help me understand what is going on please? Connecting using a cable is inconvenient due to a reconfiguration of the office space. Thank you so much in advance for your help.
