Hello, I recently purchased a GX2020 to replace my old Pixma. The main reason I selected the GX2020 is all the specs indicated it can do duplex scanning, which I like to have for document scanning and faxing. However, it appears the MacOS software doesn't have this option. Is the documentation about the printer incorrect, or is this a limitation of the Mac software? If the latter, when will it be fixed?

Did you ever get an answer? I've found this problem with several printers. Advertised features don't work for Macintosh. I never expected it from Canon, but it seems likely considering there is NOTHING in the manual for duplex scanning for Mac. Only PC.

Hi! Thanks for contributing to the community. I see that you would like to know if there is a way to enable the Duplex printing option on a Mac computer.
Sorry. Your Canon GX2020 is capable of duplex printing. However, it is limited by the print options available through the computer operating system. If you have a Windows computer, the duplex printing option is available. However, on a Mac, the AirPrint options do not include Duplex Printing.
If you need to check what options are available through AirPrint on a Mac computer, you can visit the following page of your printer's manual:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/PrinterDriver/M/GX2000%20series/CO/EN/PPG/dg-c_pc_basic.html
If you need to find out if Mac Support has a solution that allows you to select a Duplex (or Double-Sided) Print option in the AirPrint window, I recommend contacting them. Here is a link to their support page:
https://support.apple.com/mac
As an alternative, you can ask the Apple community to see if they can offer any recommendations. Here is a link to that page:
https://discussions.apple.com/welcome
We can offer one work-around. There is a way that you can manually print on both sides of the page. Here are the steps:
When the printing is complete, you will find that page 2 would have printed in the back side of page 1, page 4 would have printed on the back side of page 3, and so on. You can reorder the stack so that page 1 is at the top.
If you will need to make multiple copies of that two-sided document, it would be easier to print the entire document as it is (single-sided). After that, you can use the printer's Copy feature to make multiple two-sided documents. For information on how you can use the printer to make copies, you can visit the following page:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/GX2000%20series/EN/UG/ug-043.html
Here is a link to the page with the information regarding two-sided copying:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/GX2000%20series/EN/UG/ug-047.html
Until Two-Sided or Duplex printing is an option available through AirPrint, this is the only work-around we can offer. I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
