LBP6030w Connects to Wifi but Won't Print

kkaiser

Hello,

I have a Canon LBP6030w. I have all the software installed and was able to connect the printer to my home wifi. When I hold down the grey button on the printer it prints the wireless connection summary with the IP address and all that. It says that the connection is normal on that printed page and on the printer manager software. It looks like nothing is wrong with the wireless connection, but when I print something, the software will not receive the print job. The print job will only stay in the Windows control panel print job manager. Windows settings says the printer is offline, but the printer software says the printer is ready to print. When I plug the printer into my computer via USB, it prints just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Using Windows 10 Home

Thanks!

Thanks for such a quick reply! I'm running Windows 10 Home.

In addition, other computers on my home wifi can also detect the printer and install its drivers through Windows settings. But, just like my computer, the printer will not receive the print job.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I am having the same issue.

How is this corrected?

Hello,

If the printer has a valid IP address, but the setup is unable to locate the printer, it will usually mean there is security software blocking the setup from finding the printer or there is a communications issue.

In this situation, you can start by turning off any firewall or security software running on the computer and then running the setup again to see if it can detect the printer. If that fails, you can try power cycling the router that is connecting the two devices and then checking if the setup can locate the printer.

If you continue to have issues or would like someone to walk you through the network setup, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to help.
