I have a Wired LAN connection, and it will not connect. I tried to set up the Wired Connection. When I got to Enabling wired LAN (disabled/enabled), it says processing. Then it goes to manual, but never connects. I guess it wants me to manually make this connection. I do not know what I need to select. How do I do this? If I remove the printer from the computer (Windows 11) and then reinstall it, would this work? This printer has been working great, then today it lost connection. I have no idea what I could have done.

I did not remove the printer; I just had Windows look for a new printer. Windows 11 cannot find it. Also, I tried to print from my phone wirelessly, and it could not be found that way either. What did I do, and how do I fix this?

My printer is registered. I found the machine was not connected to my network. I tried to add a new machine, and Windows could not find my printer. So, I tried to set up the LAN connection manually. The first try did not work. So, I tried again, this time I was able to connect to my network and was able to print. My only problem now is that I did not write now what settings I set the printer to. Is there a way I can print out what my connection is set to from my computer? I am afraid to try and do it from the printer and lose my connection again.

Hi treasuredphotos! Thanks for contributing to the Canon Community.
I see that you are having trouble with the printer's Wired connection. As far as the options in the printer's menu is concerned, you just need to make sure that the Wired LAN option is enabled. Once the Wired LAN Setting is turned on, the printer should automatically connect to your network if it is properly connected to your router with an Ethernet cable.
To start troubleshooting, I would recommend checking the Ethernet connection on both ends. Please make sure that the Ethernet cable is connected to the Wired LAN port on the back of the printer. Here is a link to the manual page that will help you find where the Wired LAN Port (marked with the letter B in the illustration) is located:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G7000%20series/EN/UG/ug-158.html
Please make sure that the other end of the cable is properly connected to an Ethernet port on the router. Once you are certain that the cable is connected at both ends, the next step is to enable the Wired LAN Setting on the printer. Here is a link that opens the instructions that helps with enabling the printer's Wired LAN Setting:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART180001
After you select the Enable option for Wired LAN and press OK (step 6), you will get a message letting you know that the Wireless and Wireless Direct setting on the printer will be disabled as a result of enabling Wired LAN. You just need to press OK to that message. A few moments after that, the printer should connect to the Wired network provided by your router.
To check the printer's Wired LAN connection, you can print out the network information. Here is a link to instructions that will help you do that:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART175781
After following those instructions, the printer's network information should be printed on three pages. You will see line numbers on the left side of the page. To find the Wired LAN information, please scroll down and look for the section that starts with the number 4.
You should see that Wired LAN is enabled in line 4. Line 4-2 should let you know if the connection is active. If you do have an active connection, you will see the printer's Network (IP) address in line 4-4.
If all that checks out, you should be able to install the printer on your Windows 11 computer (if both the printer and computer) are on the same network. I recommend that you delete the printer that is currently listed in your computers list of Printers & Scanners. To get to that window, you can click on the Windows symbol in the bottom bar, click on the Settings option, select Bluetooth & Devices from the left column, then click Printers & Scanners on the right. To delete the printer, just click on it and select the Remove option in the top right corner.
After deleting the printer, please download the setup program to reinstall the printer on your computer. Here is a link to that page:
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-g7020
When the page opens, please click on the Software & Drivers symbol to the right of the picture of the printer. Then, make sure that the correct operating system and version is selected. After that, scroll to the bottom of the list and click on the Load More button. Next, look for the Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.00 (Windows) and click on the Download button.
When the download is complete, please open the file and let it run. Then, follow the instructions that pop up to complete the installation. At some point, the program will look for the printer. As long as it is found, you'll be able to click on it and click Next to finish the setup.
If this does not help, please write back. Please let us know if you made sure the Ethernet cable is properly connected at both ends and if you were able to follow the instructions to enable the Wired LAN Setting on the computer. Also, please tell us what happened after you tried using our program to install the printer on your computer.
I hope this helps. Thanks again.
