Factory Reset Pixma ix6820

There is a password on my printer (I can't imagine putting one on MY printer). I'm attempting to join a recently installed home WiFi mesh network and have followed ALL the set up instructions to the letter.  I have resolved to restore to factory default to clear any of the past settings and any default passwords.  I pressed the stop button 9 times and the password is still present. BTW - there are at least 4 different reset methods listed on the official Canon websites for resetting this series of printer!  Is there a different method of factory reset?  I would use a hammer but that would simply be instant gratification and would not solve the issue.  Maybe spend another $300+ on another manufactures printer. Very frustrating! Been at this for over 3hours.

Hi afassl,

To reset your PIXMA iX6820 to factory default, please hold down the Resume/Cancel button and continue to hold it down.  When the power light has blinked 15 times, let go of the Resume/Cancel button:

Pressing the resume button never causes the power button to blink 15 times. It doesn't blink at all. Ony the resume button blinks 4 times.
