Driver for LBP647cdw seems incorrect and doesn't show in printers on computer

Just hooked up brand new LBP647cdw, went through all installation steps. Connected with USB. It prints, however it doesn't show up as a printer on my computer and I have zero control panel. I can't select media type or even chose to use the manual feed when printing. 
Why won't it show up as a printer, and how is it that I have no properties panel?? The printer name shows "Canon Generic Plus UFRII v330" Shouldn't it say LBP647cdw? 
I have no idea how to fix this. Found nothing that helps so far.
