Canon IR3245 Not Discoverable on the Network

Hi all.
I have the above printer assigned a static IPv4 address and ICMP ping tests work fine however the printer cannot be discovered by PCs on the network (same LAN).
Configuring the printer manually on the PCs it fails to print. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Gurei!

Thanks for posting! While our forum community members are welcome to chime in, Canon does not provide direct support for imageRUNNER series products. Instead, your dealer will be able to help you! If you don't have a dealer and you're in the United States, please call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) and we will be happy to provide you with the names of dealers in your area.

If you're outside the USA, visit and choose your country or region from the map for local support.

We hope this helps!

Thanks for the help with the community page. Hope someone from the community will advise with a solution.

Don't rely on Microsoft or Apple to supply the correct (fully functional) drivers for an existing IP based printer on your network.

Supply the drivers yourself:

If this is on a windows domain, add the print server role on a DC or file server, install and share the printer from there.

Thank you Rick for your input.

When installing the driver, what is the best port to select and Add Port?

On the printer, on network settings, I have enabled RAW and installed PLC6 drivers on my PC with port RAW 9100. When I send a document to print it gives an error for failing to print after a while. Any advice? Heard there is a license required to enable printing. Is this true?
