PIXMA MX922 with error code B200 (Series MX920)

How do you clear the B200 Support Code on my Printer? I can't do anything with the printer until the B200 code is removed and does not pop up as soon as I power up the printer. AND what causes the B200 code to be active all of a sudden?? My printer is no longer in warranty, but has worked fine until this code issue appeared all of a sudden! Your nearest service center is over 250 miles away----hardly worth while to keep printer if no "work a round" is provided, and I doubt I'd buy another Canon if this issue is not resolved!

This worked for me. Power off, power on, allowed the printer to cycle through start up with cartridge door open. Released all the ink cartridges, reengage the ink cartridges. Printed pages with no error code.

That literally isn't possible to do. The screen prompts you to close the cover and when you do, B200 comes up. It won't complete a power cycle on with the cover open.

Worked with my MG6220! Thank you!!!

No the CANON rep wanted business... His reply was WRONG ...

That is possible with the RDF raised up...

This confused me for a bit also. By "cover" in this case, they mean the "inner cover", just below the ink cartridge door. Be sure it's in the raised (closed) position (the inner cover swings down to uncover the disk printer holder slot, and also to give more room for ink cartridge or print head removal).

My experience

Step by step the printer came to life and printed at its best… OUAOU…
If this was helpful you will know by repeating it…

NOTE: DON’T RASH to throw the printer out and never agree with some idiots who advise you that the B200 Code shows the printer is basically unreparable or too costly to repair…

I repeated bazioto's steps (except skipped the water wash - if alcohol didn't open the nozzles, water wouldn't do much more).

I also got another B200 when restarting, but to speed up the step-by-step part...:

...unplugged the AC for 60 seconds.

...use the cover-open trick again to keep control at startup

...from the front panel, select MENU/Maintenance/Print Nozzle Check Pattern

It worked! The nozzle check sheet printed, and operations are back to normal.

Yes, a little patience can pay off. If you're lucky.

Hi,

Im new to this site and joined because i am thinking of buying the pixma 922 and was worried about what I read about the B200 error. It seems you found the solution. I was trying to view what the solution would be before I buy the printer. I dont see the complete answer to fixing this possible problem. Can you offer it or direct where I can find this?

Thanks alot,

Dan

Thanks,   I did try this and it did clear the error but when I tried to do anything else it went back to error mode.  I'll probably try the clean manually.  I was going to try a deep cleaning but I could get that far.

success!

Just "success!" ? What does that mean?
