PIXMA TS9521C No settings on macOS Tahoe when I select "page setup" before printing

I've just gotten a new mac Tahoe 26.2 (25C56) and I'm switching from PC so this could be user error.   I have tried every combination of installing the canon driver for my  for my Pixma TS951C and adding my printer in "Printers and Scanners" and restarting my computer and I can't get any settings to show up in "Page settings" when I go to print from Adobe products.   The only option has been the Canon TS9500 series-Airprint when I select the software option, even after installing the drivers from this website.  I tried to see if I could install it by manually selecting the driver but everything is greyed out, so it must not be included as a file with installation.   I've tried connecting it wireless and through a usb cord, with no difference.

What am I doing wrong? I can't get anything to work.  Like it will print if I send the file to print, but I can't control any settings whatsoever beyond the page size.  I can control some settings if I go through the Canon Print App, but I don't want to have to export everything as JPGs and go through the app. And the app still doesn't let me control the color settings.

How do I get the whole page setup menu to show up on a mac?????

Greetings,

AirPrint Is one of those things Apple is very proud of.  It's very convenient, but that's about it.

In order to get a "full page setup menu" with options, you can't use AirPrint.  You've already got the printer connected to your wireless network, so here's what you need to do.

First determine the IP of the printer on your network.  There are two ways to do this.

One is to run the ippfind command from the terminal app.

Then use the ping command to query the printers IP by pinging the printers hostname.local from terminal.  The other way to do this is by looking at the list of attached devices on your router.  You can see it's IP there as well.

Once you have the IP, you can proceed.

On the MAC, open the printer and scanners applet, select the printer and use the minus key (-) to remove it.

Now add the printer as an IP printer using the globe icon which is just to the right of the default add printer icon.

Enter the printers IP address.  You'll notice that the IP also populates in the printer name field below.  This field is editable, so give your printer a friendly name. Something that is meaningful to you.  Then down below change the Use: dialog to the Canon Driver you installed.  Press OK to complete the install.  Now when you print, you'll see the familiar options you are looking for..

Optional but recommended.  It's best practice to assign your printer a static IP on your network.  This is done on your router.  I recommend you do this before installing the printer as it can save you from having problems moving forward.

The screenshots you're showing here are the the general (but very simplified) Page Setup shared by all applications along with the printer's information within system Settings. The shared Page Setup will only ever show the most basic settings.

To configure all the individual detailed settings, choose Print (Command-P) in the application you're printing from.

Shown here are the Print dialogs from within Preview, Adobe Illustrator, and Pages. My printer is connected wirelessly via AirPrint. Similar settings are shown when printing from various apps on my iPhone, though there are more configurable options when printing from a Mac.
