canon digital ixus 80 is not turning on

I have bought a canon digital ixus 80 that wont turn on. I bought it by a person, who didn't unwrap it, and all of the components were plastic sealed. The camera itself wont turn on, i tried bying new batteries, but that doesnt fix the problem. any solution?

This unit is not sold in the United States. The US model, the PowerShot SD1100 IS was retired in 2014 and is no longer supported by Canon USA.

This is a fifteen-year-old camera model. Are you saying it was in the factory-sealed, never-been-opened package?

Did you charge the batteries (you do have the charger, right?)?

Who was "the person" you bought it from? Any guarantee on it?
