DPP4 extractor fails to expand files

MB1971

I just downloaded the dppw4.18.10-installer and extracted the file with the default Microsoft windows extractor.  When I click on the extracted installer, I get the message "Failed to expand the Files".  I tried to download earlier versions of Digital Photo Professional 4 from the Canon USA software page but keep getting the same result.

My C drive is getting short on space so I began the process of trying to uninstall certain programs from C drive and reinstalling on D drive.  Currently I have an older Canon MG6620 and a now two year old Canon PRO-200.  I tried to go ahead and reinstall the 6620 on D drive but was not given a choice as to the path of installation and had no choice but to reinstall back on C drive, which I did with no problem.  Afterwards, I tried again to run the dppw4 software and it installed normally, but again I had no choice but drive C.  Am I missing something or does the printer software have to be installed on the same drive as the operating system?  The compter I have is a 2016 Alieanware area 51 With a solid state C drive and a 2TB D drive.  I know it's becomming a bit dated but is still fast enough to run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 with no problems (my other pastime in addition to my photography hobby).  I have plenty of storage space on D but every time i get a windows update, it seems my C drive shrinks!

Hi MB1971,

We're glad to hear you were able to install Digital Photo Professional 4 on your computer. That program does need to be installed on the main drive for your computer, since that is typically the C drive it makes sense that is where it installed on your computer.

Through Canon forum support we only have information on our camera equipment and camera software. For information on your printer drivers and assistance with your printers you will need to call in to the printer support team. They can be reached at 1-800-652-2666 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday.
