Quality P&S for outdoor photography

Last year was a disaster with so much going on. I'm looking to get back in the groove with my writing and photography. There will be situations where it's not handy to carry the T7 and a couple of lenses. I have an older model of Brand X but feel that one more up-to-date would be better. Budget would be about $300-400; less would be better.😉 Will research your suggestions to make a decision. Thanks.

What with my main gun, and a phone, I like to have an orthogonal point and shoot that fits an entirely separate set of needs. I have an Olympus TG-5 which is a segment Canon does not address.
