PowerShot SX740HS Firmware Update Issues

Folks- I am having an issue updating the firmware on my SX740HS. I have downloaded the file to my computer. I have tried placing the zip file on the memory card in various folders using my computer. No matter where I place it on the memory card, when I return the memory card to the camera, and try to update the firmware, the camera tells me that there is no firmware on the card. Any suggestions? The instructions from Canon are not helpful.

You don't put the ZIP file on the SD card. You unzip it on the computer and put the DRIVER FILE on the SD card.

The file you need to copy to your SD card is this.

SX740HS143.FIR

It's file extension is .FIR. It's inside the zip which you need to extract (unpack)
