I recently purchased online a new SX740 HS from Willoughby's in NYC. They assured me that it was a USA version. When it arrived and I turned it on the menu was in a foreign language. I was able to get it set to English. I knew there was firmware updates available, so I downloaded it from Canon and placed the file on the SD card. I put the memory card back in the camera and navigated to the Function settings screen. The manual shows there should be five (5) groups of options across the top. My camera only has four (4). I do not have the 5th group of options where the "Firmware" is displayed! Therefore, I cannot click on that to perform the firmware update.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to update the firmware? Why does my camera not have that fifth group of options as shown in the user manual?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Did the camera include Canon USA warranty card? If not, Willoughby's lied.....return the camera.
If it is a USA camera.....you get to choose the display language. This manual shows you how....

The actual Canon manual mentions it on page 104......
