I am wondering if the powershot g7x mark ii can be used as a webcam. I’ve seen stuff online pointing towards yes, however, every time I plug it into my computer the lens retracts. Anyone know why?
There ins't a way to use that camera body as a webcam through Canon. The PowerShot G7 X Mark II is not compatible with our EOS Webcam Utility software. There isn't a way to use the USB port for a webcam connection with that camera body. The HDMI on the PowerShot G7 X Mark II is only for playing back videos and photos you already shot on a television. The HDMI on that camera does not output a live video feed.
