G1 X features

For me, the G1 X is a near perfect camera.  I need a compact camera with a large processor.  I love Canon quality.  However, I love taking panorama shots, and Canon is years behind other manufacturers on this feature.  Stitch Assist isn't even close to the panorama features available on other cameras.  

My question: when can I expect a G1 X with panorama?

I hear you on the Canon stitch assist. I've been using Photoshop Elements 12 pretty successfully for panorama shots. For me the panorama feature in most other cameras I've tried is too limiting with only 180 degree and 360 degree options. I also like to turn the camera 90 degrees and shoot the panorama that way to get more in the frame. So for me it really doesn't matter, but it would be nice for everyone else that would like it. Especially with the price of the G series cameras.
