My Canon SX40 the picture does not fill LCD screen

I have it set to b&w but the image fills only 1/2 the screen.

What aspect ration is your camera set on ? It should be on 4:3 and it sounds like your in 3:2 or lower ? I dont think shooting in B&W matters

Thats waaaaaaaaay out of my league.  I had to read the manual just to set it to b&w.  If you tell me how to find the aspect ration I will try and let you know.
