Date/timestamp on a Canon Powershot SX540 HS

I have a Canon Powershot SX540 HS camera and was wondering if there is a way to put a date/timestamp on the pictures taken?

If you mean a date time that actually shows on the image, no. That feature has gone the way of the dodo bird.
