After powering on the unit, I receive the error, "Turn the main power OFF and ON. E015-0001 If the device does not recover, contact your dealer or service representative." I've powered it off, unplugged it for 5 minutes, and powered it back on multiple times. The service manual indicates that this is a "Cassette 1 lift-up error" where the cassette lifter sensor is not detecting the lifter plate being lifted. I suspect the pickup motor as I don't hear it when following the troubleshooting steps to power it on without the cassette, and then insert it. This is $450 printer and I just spent $1000 on new toner. It's non-functional, even from the multi-purpose feeder. Purchased in 2020. Is it cheaper to buy a new one or have Canon try to service it?

I am having the same issue with my printer. What was the fix?

Hello,
The error would point to a hardware issue and the printer would need service. The printer would need a replacement part or to be opened up to see what is wrong with the hardware. To check your service options, you can log into your MyCanon account or contact support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666.
