imageCLASS MF733Cdw - paper type options missing in print dialog

HamRichards
Contributor

My ImageClass MF733cdw is driven by AirPrint from my MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1. The problem occurs with both the Apple driver (3.0) and the Canon driver (10.11.12).

Printing on heavy stock is producing smears, while printing the same content on 20-lb paper is flawless. I want to select Heavy from the Media & Quality / Paper Type menu, but that menu offers only one option: Auto Select. The printer manual lists many types of paper that the printer can handle. How do I get those paper types to show up in the Media & Quality / Paper Type menu?

Thanks for yours suggestions,

—Ham

Hello,

The issue does look like the printer driver is not install or was not used when the printer was added. In this situation, you can go into printers and scanners and remove any connections for the printer. Once removed, you can download and install the MF Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac from our site using the link HERE.

Once the drivers have been reinstalled, you can go into printers and scanners and add the printer again. One you click the option to add a printer or scanner from printers and scanners and the add printer window will appear. In the add printer window, you can highlight the MF733. Once the printer has been highlighted, you can click on the USE drop down box that is next to the add button. In the list of drivers that appear, you can select the MF733 and then click add.

If you continue to run into issues selecting the paper type, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666, our agents would be happy to assist.
