How do I set the scanner resolution for emailing PDF?
I can only find settings for "density", "sharpness", and "file size". But it is not clear, what these settings actually do and there is no significant change visible when I adjust those settings.
I would much rather set a scanner resultion and compression level manually instead of murky "adjust quality" settings where I don'T know what they actually do...

I think you've gotten the only answers there are. If you want to stick with the LCD, you can configure default settings in the printer's web UI once, and then the LCD has the options that the LCD has. There are also more capable third party scanner software options, but you don't want to use them. So you're stuck with the LCD, and what you see there is what you get. No hidden secrets.

I've always looked at LCD panel features as a very basic way of quickly interfacing with a complex device, and that to utilize all of the device's capabilities you need to use the software suite.
