I do a lot of photo scanning and thought using the Color ImageCLASS MF654Cdw would be my savior. While it gets the job done, in order for me to get a scan of each photo instead of the entire glass scanning bed, I have to use ScanGear from within the Canon MF Scan Utility. The default photo scan in the Scan Utility application gives an output file of the entire scan bed - really useless when scanning photos. There's got to be a better and easier way. What am I missing?

In the Scan Utility settings you can specify the image size, or create a custom one. You may have to experiment with where on the glass the photo should be placed, but it looks like it could be a solution.
