Greetings,

Can you provide additional about the computer and error message you are receiving.

What OS (version and build) is the laptop you are using the printer with running?

What error message are you getting?

Greetings,

Do you have the MF Scan Utility and Scan Gear software installed on the laptop?  Easiest way is to open the scanning software and initiate a remote scan.

If you are trying to Scan to a shared folder, you will need to create destination on the computer.  I usually use the Documents folder.  Assign the correct permissions to the folder, then save the destination in the printers address book.  Note that the MF / ScanGear applications cannot be open when you scan to a shared folder.
