Printing on Certified Mail Labels from stamps.com (SDC-3930) is causing smearing.  The labels are certified for laser printers.  Is there something I can do to get a legible print?

Hello MattRahid,

If you are printing on mailing labels and you are getting smudges on your prints, you can try cleaning the printer's fixing assembly using the steps provided in the link HERE.

If you still have smudges on the paper, you can try loading it into a different paper tray or checking the paper for any curling. You can also try changing the paper type that is selected in the print window. To assist further with the settings, we would need some additional information. if you can reply to this message with the information below, we can provide additional assistance. For a more immediate response, feel free to contact support at 1-800-652-2666.

  1. What program are you printing the shipping labels from and what paper type are you selecting?
  2. Which paper tray are you loading the paper into?

Brand new MF445dw.  Followed the steps you outlined, still printing partial smear.  Trying to print Stamps.com Certified Mail labels which are certified for laser printing.

Any other ideas of what's going on?

Hi,

I have the same printer and trying to print on certified mail labels with this printer.  What settings do you use?  What we are given is a PDF to print on the label that is an 8.5x11 page.  The label is 4.5x8.5 and the printer refuses to print because it is a size mismatch.
