The last time I replaced the toner cartridges in my Canon Color ImageCLASS MF632Cdw, I thought I'd save money by buying third-party toner instead of genuine Canon toner.
My printouts were fine at first but after a while they started looking worse and worse. I eventually replaced just the black toner with genuine Canon toner and the black parts of my prints were immediately perfect, as they have remained for many months.
Meanwhile, the color parts of my prints were continuing to get worse. I'm here to ask if you think the third-party toner is causing the ugliness in the attached graphics, or if it could be something else. I could buy genuine C, M, & Y Canon toner if necessary -- but it's SO expensive!
I've gone to the Maintenance screen on the printer and went through the Clean Fixing Assembly, the Clean ITB, and the Clean Feeder procedures more than once (although today several attempts trying the Clean Feeder procedure did nothing).
Here are two dual graphics: the first half of each graphic is the original file and the second half is a scan of the printout of those files:
#1 • Original file, then my printout
#2 • Original file, then my printout
Since I bought the printer (new) about 7-1/2 years ago, it seems to be that I've only printed 2,290 pages.
Many thanks!

I doubt anyone here, nor Canon, help you with image problems when you install third party toner. Whether OEM toner will solve the problem now, or whether there is other damage, we can't know. You save money with third party toner, but you take your chances. Considering that you printed a grand total of only 2,290 pages the money you saved per year over 7 1/2 years will be negligible compared to the cost of new printer.

Many thanks! I’ll bite the bullet and replace the toner with genuine Canon toner. It’s not really saving money when the output is virtually unusable. I appreciate your advice!

What I have learned the hard way is, you want cheap, go with inkjet. If you take the dip into color laser, either be prepared to do the full plunge, or reconsider. There seem to be 20 brands of third party laser toner for these Canon models. Some people say they find success, many do not, and many don't find out for a while.
Btw, if you buy the toner directly from the Canon website they usually have a discount for purchase of more than one, any color.

Inkjet is a MORE expensive way to print. On the other hand, it is superior to laser for photo printing.
There are good aftermarket suppliers of laser toner......who don't recycle the toner/drum units endlessly. This could be the problem with yours. I don't know if I can tell you on here who I use but if you private-message me I'll tell you. Their product gives me top results on my aging ImageClass MF8350cdn and a Brother printer. Also Canon and Brother inkjets.
