MF726Cdw processing light flashing green but does not print

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my mf726cdw where it suddenly does not print or copy.  The green processing light continuously blinks green and the printers keeps cycling but no error messages.  I just purchased a new set of oem toner 6 months ago which costs more than these printers so i want to get it working again.

Updated the firmware but that didn't work.  Initialized everything and that didn't work either.  The problem happens even if I try to do a black and white copy so it's not pc related.  Tried replacing the black cartridge and that didn't work either.

Anyone else have this probelm and was able to solve it?

What's the OS?  How is the printer connected?  Are you trying to print only from one device?

No, as I mentioned this is not PC related.  I am printing over the network from multiple devices.  Even a simple black and white copy which does not include pc printing - only scanning and printing locally on the printer results with a never ending flashing of the "processing/data" light.  Or printing an consumable output report does the same thing, processing/data blinking and continuous cycling.

If I wasn't into this for $500 worth of oem toner, I would junk it.  But at this point I want to salvage whatever is left of the useful life of the toner.

Since you've reset and reinitialized the device and seem to have eliminated all other causes, it unfortunately sounds like a main board failure.  The last thing I would try is unplug it from power, and wait overnight.  Hail Mary.

Thanks for your help.  I have a friend that purchased  his around the same time as mine and he said he is having the same problem with his.

You should have a discussion with Canon support.  Maybe it's a common problem they will help with repairing (sounds like it may be), or replacing the unit so you can still take advantage of your cartridges.  It's worth it for them to do what they can to get you up and running so you keep buying their toner... -)

In case this helps anyone, the problem appears to be the main sheet feeder for the tray.  When i print from the manual sheet feeder it is still working.  Hopefully this will last until the toner is finished.  Makes you wonder if the cost of the expensive toner is worth it.
