I'm using a Imageclass D570 multi-function printer/copier/scanner.
I have followed these steps from the instructions with the following result:
(1) Document on bed of scanner
(2) Press COPY/SCAN
(3) scan type COMPUTER
(4) (not show since machine is connected via USB)
(5) scan type B/W
(6) screen shows SCANNING (with PROCESSING light flashing
(7) I press CONFIRM DESTINATION to see "ralol DESKTOP-IFBFCVB"
(8) after some time passes, AN ERROR OCCURRED and CLOSE
It appears the machine is recognizing my computer by the info seen in step 7 so I have no idea about what to do.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm not familiar with that error code. Try reaching out to Canon Customer Support. They should be able to identify what that message is saying and resolve it.
In the meanwhile, could the printer be "factory defaulted" to see if that resolves the issue? 🤔

Thanks -- after reading the user manual more carefully, I finally figured out what I hadn't done correctly. I appreciate people like yourself who are willing to take the time to offer assistance with those of us having difficulties.

Thanks for being part of the conversation, RonO. For the benefit of your fellow Canon users might be experiencing the same thing, please let us all know where specifically things went wrong and what you did to correct them so that they can try it, too!
