MF6530 repeated paper jam at fixing unit

Hi there.

Recently my imageclass MF6530 started jamming everytime at the same point. The paper makes its way through until a few inches have passed through the fixing unit and then jams, right around where the 6 rubber 'collars' (FC6-7496-000) are. I took apart and put back the fixing unit hoping it may solve the problem but it still happens. Not sure what is triggering the jam, any ideas? Maybe one of the other sensors... any ideas on ways to troubleshoot?

There could be obstructions in the path of the paper. Remove all removable parts like drum and toner and look for foreign objects or broken parts that may block the path. Look closely also at the fusing unit (hot part) for broken parts. The paper seperators in the fusing unit (plastic) is common to be damaged or broken when improperly removing a paper jam.

thanks for the response. That was my initial thought, and why I took apart the fixing unit. I didnt see anything in there, but may try again.

Can you buy a new plastic piece in the back. Mine is broken. Or is it trash.
