MF4770n - Can't Connect Scanner

The machine prints all day long , but it does not connect for scanning. I get the "Connect computer" message in the machines window, It is connected by a WLAN to a Mac.  Thanks for any thoughts!

Did scanning work previously?

 

Have you recently upgraded?

 

What version of MAC OS and what drivers did you install?

 

There are scanner specific drivers for Catalina and previous OS.

Thanks for the reply. Jill never got scanning to work and has had the printer for 6 or 7 years. Mac OS is 10.15.7

Hi Doug62,

 

Please downlad and install the latest scanner driver. Please click HERE for the MF4770n Drivers & Download page. Please select MAC 10.15 from the Operating System. Click on Software tab and download and install the file:

 

Scanner Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V2.15.3 [Mac OS : 10.10/10.11/10.12/10.13/10.14/10.15]

 

Once installed try scanning with MF Toolbox:

 

1.  Place document on printer.
2.  Press Scan.
3.  Press arrow to Remote Scanner.
4.  Open MF Toolbox.
You should see Mail / OCR /Save / PDF and Color Scan /B&W Scan / Custom 1 / Custom 2 in a box and Settings. Select options.
*You can select Settings to ensure the MF4770n driver with MAC address is selected in Scanner box..
Specify the scanner setting as needed
5.  Click APPLY.
6.  Click START.

I installed the driver and attempted to scan as described. 

 

The printer says :

Remote Scanner

Waiting ...

(Online)

 

Below is the message frpm MF Tool Box

 

Cannot communicate with any of the scanners.

The scanners may not be connected, or may be turned off.
