Loading my MF 229Dw printer on a new Mac

I have located the downloads for my printer on the Canon site. To load from scratch do I need to download the drivers package & firmware package for my model to have the full downloads for complete operation?

Thank you for your inquiry, and welcome to the Canon Forums. We appreciate your participation, however, for the community to best assist you can you provide us with the following information:

 
1.Operating System version on the Mac?
2.How is your printer connected?

You will need to downloand the following files from the Canon Drivers & Download website:

MF Printer Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V10.11.5 [Mac OS : 10.10/10.11/10.12/10.13/10.14/10.15/11.0]
Scanner Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V2.15.5 [Mac OS : 10.10/10.11/10.12/10.13/10.14/10.15/11.0]
Fax Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V4.15.7 [Mac OS : 10.10/10.11/10.12/10.13/10.14/10.15/11.0]  (if you are going to PC fax)

Firmware only needs to be downloaded if you are have the issue described in the description.

Printer has both a wireless connection & hardwired.
