How and when to use the Multi-Purpose Print Tray

I'm confused on HOW and WHEN to use the Multi-purpose Try associated with Imageclass printer and other like printers?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You use a multi-purpose tray when you have a main tray full of paper and you just want to print on something different without taking out your ordinary paper.  Or, say, an envelope. Or a sheet of card stock that travels better from the MP tray than from the main paper tray. There's no rocket science to this.
